 About Me |
I am currently enrolled in the Global Stewardship program at Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC. Global Stewardship was created for students wishing to explore a career working for international NGOs like Amnesty International, or domestic voluntary sector organizations like the United Way. Through a unique curriculum combining classroom study and volunteer work, I am learning the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to make the organizations I volunteer for more effective. I am also developing excellent communication, organizational, and group management skills which are considered highly desirable by employers.
As my schooling suggests I have always had a passion for social justice and positive change. I am currently involved in the Social Justice Committee and the Environmental Committee at my university. I am committed to working with these groups to raise awareness and funds for global issues such as homelessness and climate change.
I have been very fortunate to have had many opportunities in my life to travel and I have found that it has been in these times where I have experienced the most personal growth. I love to immerse myself in new cultures, see new places and meet new people and I am very much looking forward to Ghana as my next big adventure where I will continue to learn about myself and the world around me.
My trip to Ghana is my first opportunity to put my passion for social justice and travel into practice together and I am very excited to be a part of this incredible opportunity!
