 About Me |
I grew up in Texas and after studying Geography at the University of Texas I decided to follow my wanderlust to half way across the globe to tropical Thailand to work with young Thai children. I was shocked and thrilled to discover the cultural differences of South East Asia compared with the United States. However, my desire to discover more about our earth and its people was not yet satisfied. Next I traveled to South America and spent some time teaching and getting to know Chile and Argentina. Our world is such a beautiful place and I am enthralled with the idea that though we are all human beings connected by our experience on this earth we each play our lives our differently. We each follow our own unique path, designed specifically for us and chosen by us. Though at times it is hard to understand the life and actions of another, we can respect the idea that each one of us lives according to our personal truth and with a perspective that is developed from our own environment and experiences.
I believe it is this understanding of one another which can lead to the peace our hearts desire and the oneness we strive for. The realization that one’s actions are always justifiable within the limits of their perspective, whether we agree or not, allows us to obtain a compassion that would otherwise be overlooked.
I am incredibly excited about my upcoming adventure to Tanzania. I hope to share the joy and rewards of education with the people of Tanzania so that we can create an empowered and vibrant humanity.
