 About Me |
Jabu’s involvement in community projects started at the tender age of 13, when she was appointed as the Mc Aueley House Convent school representative at the Johannesburg Mini City Council. Her passion for community service motivated her to compile a proposal for the adoption of Junior City Council (which is a high-school version of Mini City Council) at the Marist Brothers Johannesburg School. At 17, she opened the Charter for the first Interact Club (a Rotary International Initiative) at the school. She was elected as both Interact Club President and Deputy District Representative for over 30 schools in the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan area. In 2005, Jabu was appointed as Project Co-ordinator for the Khanyisa Project- which is a community based project aimed at stimulating children who are born and/or raised behind prison doors. Later that year, Jabu was employed as Research, Logistics and Budget Co-ordinator in the Africa Services Unit at the United Nations Children’s Fund. Jabu is currently studying towards a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.
