About Me

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya, then the family lived in Scotland. At Strathallan School I passed Oxford & Cambridge Board exams at A level & O level; enjoyed a lot of sports, awarded "Best All-round Sportsman Trophy". Then in 1976 graduated Dip.Ed, from Dndee Universty Teaching College; then a BA in Sociology 1982 with the Open University. Taught for 17 years, and have been i/c Maths; Head of Geog Dept; and involved with ICT. I am registered with the General Teaching Council, Scotland and have been assessed by Disclosure Scotland. I am now an Education Consultant promoting ICT and World Skills in Scottish schools. I would like to promote the connection of schools in Scotland to schools in the developing countries in order to assist with children's education. I am also busy helping the Chinese Evangelical Church Edinburgh - the Mandarin Fellowship most Friday evenings. They are mainly students, here in Edinburgh, so it can be very difficult coming to a strange place from such a different culture, so I give them as much support in as many ways possible. I used to work as a Team Leader with The Church of Scotland, "CrossReach" re-educating adults suffering from alcohol and drug abuse, returning them back into their local community in good health. I'm also a sports enthusiast having played rugby, field hockey, and athletics to a high level, but over the past 20 years tennis has been fairly dominant for I still work with ABTO [Assoc.of British Tennis Officials] as an on-court official at Wimbledon [10 singles finals], and 8 Davis Cup events; officiated at the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. In June 2007 I helped create a sports club for children who have learning difficulties and special education needs. The club is called Edinburgh ACERS offering a variety of multi-sports out of school hours, where the children receive some instruction in Boccia, Dance, Basketball, Football, Short Tennis and Athletics. It is an all-inclusive sports club where the children learn to socialise with lots of other mainstream children through playing sports. I am also busy setting up my own business as an Employment Agency called Ys Company "People Matter - We Care". I enjoy travelling when I've the time [and money] !
