About Me

I am a Technology Integration Support Technician in a suburan school district.
I'm an experiential learner, and in order for me to have a better understanding of our students world, I need to start exploring it.

How can I persuade teachers and administrators to get on board with the types of technology our kids use if I have never experienced it, both pros and cons?

Right now a big issue our district has with experimenting with these types of social networks, is the fear that a student could get harmed by a predator, and/or the district acquires another legal battle. The district does not want to do anything involving those types of risks. I believe those "fear factors" will be my biggest hurdle in getting us closer to the Web 2.0 integration tools.

If teachers in your district are using social networks such as TIG, Ning, Classblogmeister etc... how are they handling the legalities? I would appreciate any insight or advice you could offer to help move us forward. - Thanks!
