Jonah Wittkamper is an entrepreneur and developer of social networks. In 1995 he helped lead the development of Williams Students Online, a web-based student information service provider. It was recognized by Yahoo! Life as the best student site on the Internet. In 1998 he became the lead technologist of Accenture's Financial Ideas Exchange and consequently started an effort in the corporation to provide technology consulting services to youth and student organizations around the world. In 1999 he left Accenture and founded Sadhana Solutions, a startup dedicated to outsourcing web development to developing countries. Jonah's reputation as a thought leader in the field of youth organizing began shortly thereafter as he published research online and helped launch several new international organizations including WorldTrek, Pioneers of Change and Global Youth Connect. In 2000 he co-founded the Global Youth Action Network, GYAN, to advance youth participation in global decision-making and to develop international campaigns that promote youth engagement. GYAN soon merged its web presence with www.TakingITGlobal.org to create the Internet's largest site for young social action. It now recieves 2 million hits a day. In 2001, Jonah opened up the South American Regional Office of GYAN in Sao Paulo, Brazil and set to work building bridges between youth at the World Social Forum and the World Economic Forum. During the process he began to consult young philanthropists and facilitate the creation of their networks at a global level. He returned to the USA in 2006 and now lives in the Washington, DC area. He has served on the board of the LA Jonas Foundation, the ManyOne Foundation and as an advisor to the Artemisia Foundation. He still works with GYAN as an advisor. In 2007 he was the Outreach Coordinator for a new global network of young, high level philanthropists called the Leverage Alliance. Afterwards he launched his own email marketing / contact management company: www.ezintouch.com and joined Distributive Networks, to be part of the team that developed the technology platform behind Obama's mobile phone text messaging campaign. In his spare time, he also created the Bridging Network, www.bridgingnetwork.org, to support young, global philanthropy. Jonah speaks three languages and has facilitated workshops or spoken at more than 100 international conferences.
