About Me   About Me
John first became involved with youth and political participation by attending youth rallies and registering youth to vote while working for his US Congressman. In college, John directed, “International Colors” a fundraiser bringing together New York organizations, businesses and student groups to raise funds for the United Nations Children's Fund. Having graduated from college, John headed for Turkey where he researched legal reform as a Fulbright Fellow.

He later completed his Masters in international affairs and development at L’Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris. During the summer, he worked with the Center for Educational Resources for UNESCO in Senegal, where he was first exposed to the problem of West African street children, leading to the publication of "Street Children in Senegal" (GYAN France, 2005).

John has recently completed his studies of law in Spain (Licenciatura en Derecho, Universidad Abat Oliba, 2009) and in the United States (Juris Doctor, Regent Law School, 2008, member of the NJ Bar), and is licensed to practice law in both countries. While in law school, he focused largely on human rights, as president of Regent’s International Law Society and as a summer clerk at the International Justice Mission in Guatemala, which focuses on prosecuting the sexual exploitation of children, and at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in Costa Rica, the legal arm of the Organization of American States. He also spent part of his breaks in various missions in Mexico and in the Sudan.

He hopes to work in international development by building the legal institutions that are the cornerstone and foundation of successful market economies.
