About me
I'm guest researcher at the University of Amsterdam and legal Director and Project Manager for Empresa del Manejo Cultural SA de CV EMCSA. In 2004 I was among 40 youth leaders the Inter-American Development chose to participate in its 2004 Annual Meeting for the work my organization is doing to register and preserve archeological and cultural sites in the Mexican states of Yucatán, Campeche, and Quintana Roo; promote the conservation of Latin American cultural patrimony; generate employment in the area of cultural development and preservation; and increase knowledge among civil society on cultural development. Also I have been Director and Coordinator of various research projects the Centro de Investigación y Estudios Técnicos Avanzados of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional CINVESTAV Unidad Mérida manages in the area of cultural patrimony, natural disasters, sustainable development, and the environment. I'm authored articles on indigenous peoples´ rights and cultural development. Additionally, I have held various positions with the state and federal governments of Mexico such as Director of the Instituto para el Desarrollo de la Cultura Maya (INDEMAYA), Advisor for the municipality of Mérida´s Development Plan, Advisor for Plan Puebla- Panamá, Advisor for the Development Plan for the Government of the State of Yucatán, and Advisor for the Fondo Nacional de Empresas Sociales (FONAES). He has started many initiatives, including organizations such as Ecotono Hominis et Natura and the Asociación Jurídica Internacional Pro Derechos Humanos AC.
