Jigna Chhatbar is a young and ambitious designer with intense desire to improve knowledge and understanding. After getting involved in various design related aspects and building academic career in the same, the desire and experience has been growing up constantly. In addition to other interests, designing has been Jigna’s favourite subject since her school days. Exhibition design, retail design, and furniture design have fascinated and engrossed her all the times. Sustainability has been one of her favourite research areas. Ever since Jigna joined her academic studies in the field of design, she felt it mandatory to equip herself with deeper understanding of the subject and broadening her spectrum in the mentioned field. And now, design has become the sky to fly for Jigna Chhatbar.
After bright academic records in school, Jigna continued her study in the field of design. After completing her Diploma in Interior Design (Gujarat – India) and achieving top rank in the institute, Jigna Chhatbar continued her study at Swinburne School of Design (Melbourne – Australia). Jigna Chhatbar is currently pursuing Honours year in Bachelor of Design (Interior Design). Jigna Chhatbar has been involved in many research projects and academic activities through out her study period in this esteemed university. Jigna has also completed a specialization course for 3D MAX.
Before coming to Australia, Jigna Chhatbar has worked as Junior Interior Designer for Mistry Associates, a premier architectural practice, for 2 years along with her diploma studies. This experience has increased Jigna’s skills and added many new dimensions to deal with the real life industry. Mistry Associates is an award winning firm with two studios in India and one overseas. As Jigna worked at this position in Mistry Associates, she developed skills to work in teams and also generated leadership skills by leading a team of people working on various projects with diverse site conditions and complexity. Jigna has been independently looking after enhancements and maintenance of multiple projects simultaneously. Jigna has also been involved in client interaction and requirement analysis which has given her the gift of good communication skills. She was also involved in design developments and documentation with senior architects. With getting more knowledge about the new research and other unexplored area, the excitement has been growing up. Jigna Chhatbar possesses industry-hardened skills but she is always keen to explore more and more possibilities. Jigna believes that working in industry is logical extension of her endeavors and the major step in achieving her objectives.
Apart from these academic and professional dimensions, Jigna Chhatbar is always full of rhythms and music. From very young age, Jigna cultivated interest in arts, especially in dance. Jigna is coming from the family which has been highly reputed for its entrepreneurial members. JIgna’s father is a well known businessman, so Jigna also derived interest in business skills and design from her family. Jigna has fond of photography and reading as well.
Jigna Chhatbar is always keen to meet and communicate with people. She loves to be amongst people from diverse cultures. Thinking something innovative, creative, novel and pioneering is one of her characteristics.
Jigna Chhatbar believes that destiny is not a matter of chance but it is of choice. No one knows how high one can fly until one spreads his/her wings. These words have been guiding her all the times. These words symbolize Jigna’s attitude and aspiration in life. As stated by Jackie Joyner Karee, “To achieve success, one needs three things – Dream, Hard work and Discipline.” Jigna Chhatbar possesses all of these three. And Jigna wants to be a seasoned campaigner on this globe, to spread her wings, and to make the choice of her destiny…
