About Me

Born and bred Halifax girl here. I have BA in political science from Acadia University and an advanced diploma in public relations from Nova Scotia Community College. I'm extremely passionate about international development and human rights issues, so much so that for 3 months during the summer of 2008 I traveled to New Delhi, India on an internship with the Students for Development program to work for the nongovernmental organization the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative.

This summer, I will be embarking on an incredible 6-week adventure to the country of Tanzania on the east coast of Africa. While there, I will be volunteering with Youth Challenge International to tackle issues that plague the country's development and promote positive development initiatives, such as youth employment, HIV/AIDS awareness & sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and active citizenship.
