 About Me |
I'm an Instructional Technology Trainer for the Capital Area Intermediate Unit in Summerdale, PA. I've been teaching for 30+ years, and teaching computers since 1983. (I served time as a bad vocal music teacher for almost eight years prior to that.)
One accomplishment that I'm proud of is that I won both a National Gold and National Bronze award for my computer articles in Child Guide Magazine. I've been distributing a daily computer tip for almost ten years, starting out with Clarisworks tips which were at one point printed as the feature articles in the Clarisworks UserGroup Journal. I now send the tips out via a mailing list and via my blog at http://tipline.blogspot.com
Right now, in spite of being very close to retiring, I'm completing a Master's degree in instructional Technology online through Bloomsburg University.
I believe that this current change/evolution on the web marks a VERY exciting time to be involved in projects like this. I also believe that this is the time to force the hand of change. We as coaches must lead the charge FORWARD. I believe that we cannot find excuses to continue to do what we've been doing. Now is the time to change the way we teach and learn - albeit in a kind and gentle and patient way. But I do believe it's time for a change.
