 About Me |
The year: 1974. I was born in the great old state of Michigan where I spent the first seven years of my life climbing trees, building forts, and exploring the wide expanse of forest with friends. Then came the time when I had to leave the forest and become civilized. Initially my mother tried to start a school in the small community we were living in but it soon became apparent that it would not work. So, on account of me and my younger brother, Christopher, we all packed up our belongings into a U-haul, said tearful goodbye's to our dear friends and headed for New Hampshire, not but a 15 hour trip East. My father and I drove, while my mother and Christopher flew.
I spent the next 12 years growing up surrounded by mountains, green forests, and many great friends, a rather normal white, middle-class, rural upbringing, one could say. But it was great, especially my experience at High Mowing Waldorf School. As it was both a day and boarding school, there was a strong sense of community and respect in both the teachers and the students for one another. What I learned as a result of that respect has been invaluable in all that I've accomplished since then: trust in myself and others and a respect for all living things.
I am now actively involved in finding solutions to the present education crisis through an annual three-week intensive research project called Soul Ecology, sponsored by Art Everywhere. As elite-globalization threatens to stifle every aspect of human freedom and human endeavor, I've also taken up the task, along with others, to create a network of young people who want work with spiritual science to find practical solutions and put them into action both locally and globally. I support myself primarily through my web design and consulting company, LiliO. I love the outdoors and nature and get out hiking, biking, or climbing as often as I can. So, that’s part of me anyway, a very small part.
