About Me   About Me
Jennifer Corriero is co-founder and Executive Director of TakingITGlobal, a non-profit organization that empowers youth to understand and act on the world’s greatest challenges. Over the past decade she has developed youth engagement programs supported by a range of foundations including the Knight Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, McConnell Foundation, Adobe Youth Voices, CISCO and Staples Foundation for Learning. Jennifer has presented at conferences and events in over 30 countries, including TED and the U.S. Government’s National Youth Summit.

In 2005, Jennifer was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and in 2007, as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network. Jennifer has been a judge for a range of awards including the 2012 Microsoft and British Council’s Young Education Leaders, the 2011 TD Scholarship for Community Leadership and 2010 Buckminister Fuller Challenge.

In 2007, TakingITGlobal was recognized by the Tech Museum Awards as the Education award winner. In 2003, Jennifer was a member of the Official Canadian Government Delegation to the World Summit on the Information Society. She has supported civil society engagement and presented at events in over 30 countries, including the UN High Level Meeting on Youth, UN Climate Change Conference, World Urban Forum and International AIDS Conference.

Jennifer has a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, where she has also been appointed as Adjunct Professor to the Faculty of Health, and has provided youth engagement strategy consulting for a range of organizations including Microsoft, TD Bank, and the Ontario Science Centre. In 2011, Jennifer served as a member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Youth Unemployment and was the Canadian Country Chair for Global Dignity Day. In 2013, TakingITGlobal launched the Explore150 Mobile App that currently features over 450 natural, cultural and historical sites across Canada where youth can share their stories and connections to the places and spaces that influence their identities.
