 About Me |
I am a 19 year old soon to be universty student studying International Development and Economics at SOAS in London.
I have a desire to contribute to the world around me in whatever way i can although there are so many important issues i would happily dedicate myself to it is hard to pick one!
I volunteer at a fantastic youth chairty called Envision - www.envision.org.uk - which helps to empower young people and give help them understand that they can be the change in the world which they want to see. Working with them has made me appreciate how so many young people really want to make a difference and care about their communities - something that mass media hides amoung all the negative press.
My current issue with society (living in London) is the creation and circulation of free newspapers. They are a poor form of media in terms of content and an abhorrant waste of resources and money. The environmental impact of them is huge yet has not been brought to the attention of citizens that are privvy to their circulatuion.
