HIV/AIDS: I worked on different capacity which includes: HIV/AIDS counselling, HBC for PLWAS trainer, Educator, Advocate, Mobiliser, Service provider, Facilitator and Research Field Officer. Tobacco Control: I implemented several projects on the World Health Organisation Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHOFCTC). Among the project is the Channeling The Outrage Project 2003/4 in Ghana. Youth Development: Youth empowerment has cut across all my programmes. I facilitated a session on Youth in governance at a summit in Nigeria in 2004. I am involved in decision making and influencing at local and national level through interaction. I participated in continental youth development initiatives. I founded a Centre where unlettered youth, women and other community members learn how to read, write and speak Basic English to improve on their standard of living. Peace and Cultural Diversity: I ensure that the Drama and Cultural group that I chair adopt activities aimed at promoting tolerance and respect. The group uses Drama and traditional Dance to preach peace, tolerance and development. SUCCESS It has been a great achievement to represent my country at important international fora. It is a wonderful opportunity being part of the initiation of developmental agenda. Most of my initiatives have come into reality or being implemented. I was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Department of Community Development under the UNESCO Literacy Drive in 2000 as an Instructor. CHALLENGES Logistics: Communication equipments and internet are expensive and not accessible. Funding: The process of placing project proposal developed by Youth organisations and that of big NGOs does not support youth empowerment. Freedom of Movement: Due to imbalances between country’s economy, Youth traveling to developed countries on important work that could lead to greater knowledge transfer are denied the opportunity. DREAM I have an ambition of implementing projects aimed at improving youth participation in decision making and systems at all levels leading to greater youth empowerment. In the near future, I would be lunching projects leading to conflict prevention in Ghana and Africa by using the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity. I would continue to work for a world free of Tobacco use and free of diseases. I would work for a system that is purely aimed at eradicating poverty in Africa.
