About Me

I've been writing since I was very young, and only realized that the rest of the population didn't love to write as much as I did in grade four. Mr B. announced in his endearing English accent that for homework, we would have to write a short story in our journals. I let out a joyous "Yesss!", but my whoop was cut short when I realized no one was joining me in celebration and, indeed, that they were instead fixing me with their best expressions of complete bemusement. Were they not sitting down at their respective desks at the time, I'm pretty sure more than one would have taken a cautious step back.

While I used to have quite a monogamous relationship with prose, I find myself now venturing into the mad, scandalous realm of poetry more often. Poetry is a mass of treacherous, watery depths joined eagerly into one, waiting to consume you – and heck, given that it's poetry, you never even know if they're actually watery depths you're talking about or if it's just a metaphor or some other sly literary device.

I'm also a grammar nerd. You may take the cautious step back, outlined earlier, now.

My favourite authors are Spider Robinson, Frank Herbert, Ursula K. Leguin, and Neil Gaiman. As for poets, I rather like Jen Lam and Shakespeare. Oh, and David Bowie. He's a brilliant man, he is.

I also like potatoes.
