Dr. Ohanyido was born after the Nigeria-Bifran Civil war and over the years has carved a niche for himself as a global presence in his field of Public Health medicine , as well as poetry.
He obtained his first degree in Medicine & Surgery (MB, BS) from University of Jos. He continued with post-graduate trainings at Imo state University and Ahmadu Bello University (Zaria) in Health Service Administration and Public Health respectively.
Over time, he has been a continuing education alumnus of Harvard Medical School and American University of Armenia among many other institutions.
He helped to develop the theme of Rights-Based Approach to healthcare delivery in Nigerian medical circles. He is also one of Nigeria's main Telemedicine and eHealth advocates.
He is currently a Special Advisor in the development sector to the Nigerian Medical Association(NMA), President of the International Public Health Forum(IPHF) , Deputy-Secretary General of the Society for Telemedicine and eHealth in Nigeria, and several other scientific bodies world-wide.He is also a fellow of many august professional institutions globaly.
He has worked on various platforms with USAID, WHO, UNICEF, Pathfinder International, DFID, World Bank , and other development sector players as well as goverments.
