 About Me |
I am basically an Engineer, (Naval Architect), with over 30 years of experience in both, Naval as well as, Non-Naval sectors.
The profession of a Naval Architect encompasses many technical disciplines, viz., Mechanical Engg., Electronics & Electrical Engg., Metallurgical Engg. and Civil Engg. Further my Post-graduation in Ocean Engineering gave me adequate exposure to various disciplines in pure science as well, viz., Physics, Probability & Statistics and Atmospheric Sciences, etc. Besides formal education, I consider myself to be a fairly well-read person also in a wide-ranging field of literature, from computers to spiritualism.
The experience as an officer in the Indian Navy has made me, what I think I am today; committed, hard working and very disciplined; even in adverse environments, inspirational, able to work as part of a team and sensitive to others, including cross-cultural and cross-gender situations.
The non-military experience has been equally rewarding in developing my own potential and realising my true interests, "SWANTAH SUKHAYA, BAHUJAN HITAYA" {Sanskrit : "That (work) which gives pleasure to one`s own heart, while simultaneously serving the best interest of the society at large"}. Further, being in the Transport Sector, I was in close contact with most other corporate sectors, giving me wide range of experience in planning, execution and management of various projects, involving Technical Management, Human Resource Development and Financial Management.
