About me
Hi, my name is M. Iman Usman, people usually call me Iman. I’m a 2nd grader of senior high school in Padang, Indonesia. I was born on 21st of December 1991, so now I’m almost 16 years old. In my family, I’m the only boy, and also the youngest children. I have five sisters and no brother. I’m a humorous person. At least it’s the exact thing that I took from my friends’ expression when they met me. My friends and people around me often laugh when they stay with me. I don’t know how it could happen. Does it have something to do with genetics? Or is it just a mercy? Urgh…
Maybe come to your mind, why I said that become humorous is a mercy. Yeah... actually, for me... making people smile and laugh whenever they are around me is better than winning lots of competitions. It means that they really happy when they are near me and they have good response to me. It also means that I’ve done a right thing, because I can make people forget about their sadness, problems, and change the negative thinking becomes the positive one.
Besides, my teacher often said that I’m a strong boy. Here, strong doesn’t mean that I can bring up tons of stones, lift up a car, or something like that. But, it means that I’m strong enough to overcome all of my problems, and I can give the solutions for those. It is also about having a great spirit to do something. When I’m sure about the thing that I do, I will focus and be serious to make it almost perfect. It’s probably the reason why people often said that I’m a perfectionist. When I try to do something perfectly, I’ll give my best and prove that I can do more than people can.
Actually I’m an ordinary student and an ordinary child, who like listening to music, discussing, playing games, watching movies, and so on. I always try to find something which can make me different comparing to other people. But I can’t find it until 5 months ago. I know that even though I do several things like other teenagers do, I’ve found what I want to be, why I want to be like that, and how I make it comes true. Most of my friends follow this life without knowing the purposes of living in this world. I suppose this is the thing which makes me different from the others.
There’s another thing that made me become different with other teenagers. At the age of fifteen, I’ve joined more than 10 organizations, I’ve managed more than 20 events, and I’ve got more than 30 achievements. I’m a freelance master of ceremony, and often write for some local newspapers. There is one thing that I can get from those; KNOWLEDGE. For me, knowledge is an acronym. Knowledge is “Know How to Lead for Giving the Best”.
Becoming a leader is one of my goals in the entire journey of my life. I have a faith that whenever I stay in one place, I must have a great role that can be contributed for that place. And based on my experience, it’ll be easier to do what I call KNOWLEDGE.
In Indonesia, I joined the West Sumatra Children Forum. It’s an organization which consists of children who want to do more for our friends (children). We advocate, and do the events who inform to the citizens, especially adults, that children should get their rights properly. They should have an appropriate place to live, grow, and develop. I get the position as secretary there.
Beside it, I also joined athe Indonesian Children Crticis Community or in Indonesian language called Komunitas Anak Kritis Indonesia (KAKI). It’s an organization which consist of children who want to criticize any problems around us. We give critics by doing some researches which support our opinion. Beside it, we give critic with different way. Such as playing drama, playing music, singing, read a poetry, etc. We believe that one day, this community will give great contribution for our country to make a decision. So, children’s opinion will considered by decision maker.
In my school I also organize 8 talent community. Such as Essay Community, Astronomy Club, Economy Club, English Debate Community, vocal group, and others. I believe that all of them will give great contribution for my life. I also active as freelance master of ceremony, and I have a harry potter marchandise store, and I also active writing as the reporter in some local newspapers. They made me paying anything without ask money to my parents. It made me, in children age, I can be independent.
Like I said before, I joined a children forum. Since I joined it, I found more energy and spirit to contribute something for my country. And it also encourages my self to be closer with my goals. I want to be involved in public relation and become an excellent public speaker. Besides, I also want to have an event organizer. The purpose is to advocate something for children, and can hold the events which can make children be happy. And by that organizer, I really want to look for more donations to help the children, especially for their education.
I really want to do more for Indonesian’s children. For me, children is the biggest heritage from a country. If the country failed in serving the children, it means the country has lost millions or even billions heritage to be a great country. And I don’t want it happen to my country, Indonesia.
In order to accommodate my goals, I plan to learn more about communication, and major the public relation. Because of that, I’ve prepared my self, for example by joining some organizations, and held more events, such as school events. I believe that all of the things that I have done since I opened my eyes in this world are the process to be successful.
