In addition to my educational qualification, I have over the years garnered experiences in NGOs and developmental issues especially as it relates to Reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. While in the university, I initiated and presided over the first university based NGO campaigning against HIV/AIDS both within and outside our university campus. I was appointed the Chairman Committee on Health for the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on 25th August, 2005. I have worked with the Kano State Action Committee on Aids (KSACA), various NGOs and corporate organizations, like MTN Nigeria Telecommunication, Society for Women And AIDS in Africa, Nigeria (SWAAN), Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS), Global HIV/AIDS Initiative (GHAIN) Kano State office etc. I worked with these organizations, developing and implementing various programmes on Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS. I was the leader of the student organization with which the Society For Family Health ‘MAKE WE TALK’ project was lunched in Bayero University, kano in 2004. I have undergone various capacity building programmes on HIV/AIDS and developmental issues. An example of such programme is the 2006 British Council/World Bank sponsored Debate to Action (DTA) capacity building programme on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategies (NEEDS). I participated in the 2006 XVI International AIDS Conference in Toronto, Canada as an Abstract Reviewer. I have also been invited to represent Nigerian youth in various international events like, the United Nations Conference on International Migration and The International Young Professional Summit that took place in New York and Manchester respectively. My expertise also include consultancy, having being consulting for a number of organizations. An example of such, is the Kano State University of Technology (KUT) Wudil where I worked as a consultant to implement their PEPFAR funds for universities grant project in 2005. I have participated and still participating in youth and developmental issues in Nigeria too numerous to mention.
