 About Me |
I am an Agricultural Extension Worker based in Kaduna in Nigeria.
I specialize in Beekeeping & Beekeeping Extension to local farmers.
I founded the Biye Beekeepers Society(a community-based Non profit volunteer beekeeping extension society)Currently the society is increasing to cover the whole of Kaduna State thus its now called Beekeeping Extension Soceity.
We got a grant of $11,300 in 2002 from th United States Agency For International Development(USAID)through the West African Small Grants Programme Of the Organisation of African Unity.The grant was targeted at 60 local beekeepers.
In 2003 we got another grant of $ 9898 from the Food And Agriculture Organisation Of the United Nations,It was targeted at 30 farmers.
Winrock Intrnational Sponsored 6 International Master Beekeepers from the United States who served as volunteers to the Society.
Currently 458 farmers ar involved in our projects they have increasedtheir honey production from an average of 2 liters/colony/season to 8 liters.
Winrock International Registered me as one of their volunteers.
