About Me   About Me
My name is Iala Queiroz, I am 24 years old and I have an excellent relationship with my family and my friends. This is due to the fact that they regard me as a good adviser in their difficult moments. Besides, they feel extremely good and comfortable on my side because, as they say, I can transmit calm and serenity. I do not know if this is true, but I regard myself as a quiet and equilibrated woman. Although I am not a perfectionist, but I like when things are organized. I worry if something goes wrong. I do not like deluding people. I like negotiating in complex and delicate situations. Sometimes I can be less concentrated and I have a bit of difficulties in absorbing much information coming at the same time. However, this has never interfered with reaching remarkable results in my social and professional jobs.

I have just graduated in International Relation course. Since I was a teenager I work as a volunteer in my city, Maracas, that is situated in Bahia countryside. I have an extreme respect of God, and I liked going to church and taking part of ecclesiastic social actions developed in my community. Evangelizing was one of my church commitment. As I was 13 years old, I taught children from poor communities the importance of having God in our lives. This was a significant experience of my life. Today, I am espiritual and, on Sundays, I meet with other young people to talk about youth and Espiritism. These talks involve issues of our daily lives such as violence, environment, abortion, drugs, family, employment, friendships and many others questions related to our youth.
I always like doing sports. I swim, since I was a child and this is my favourite physical activity. I walk every morning before going to university in a small lagoon next to my house. I love doing yoga and reading Brazilian literature books. I often go to the theatre. In my neighbourhood there is many extraordinary cultural entertainments. I attended piano lessons, but I did not continue as I thought it was complicated.

I work in a NGO called Diversity Institute. Our activities are focus on environmental questions and Human Rights following the Economics, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights (DESCAS) that the Brazilian government established that they have to be respected in its society.

To sump up, I have always been involved in volunteering social initiatives. These contribute and stimulate my personal and social growth. I think that understanding the others and their necessities helps me to be and develop as a social responsible person.
