My philosophy rests on the importance of cross-sector skills-building and application for social good. Consequently, while I've spent most of my professional life in the non-profit industry, primarily focusing on youth empowerment among people affected and infected by HIV, I've spent the last 3 years of my life in the private sector, gaining business acumen.
Currently, I am a consultant with IMS Health, a consulting firm which provides strategic advise in the life sciences industry. My focus is pricing and market access for drugs, both in the developed and emerging markets. Previously, I worked at McKinsey and Company focusing on health system policy. I'm hoping to bring these experiences into a public-private sector role where I'm able to work on drug and health service access for neglected diseases.
In the past, I worked as a Project Manager with Generation Rwanda (previously Orphans of Rwanda) in Kigali, Rwanda. I was a Project Officer with the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GYCA), which I co-founded as a youth participant at the Bangkok International AIDS Conference in 2004. With GYCA, I spearheaded the capacity building initiatives for young people,including trainings on project management and grant-writing. I have extensive work experience in HIV/AIDS policy in the US and internationally, including with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and CHAMP (Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization Project working on AIDS outreach in the United States).
I received my bachelor's at Barnard College, Columbia University in Economics and Human Rights with honors and more recently, my Master of Science at the London School of Economics in International Health Policy.
