About Me |
I have spent the last sixteen years involved in youth development in one way or another. My main interests have been in developing opportunities for young people to access outdoor and experiential education; global education; education for sustainability; cross cultural youth exchange work; environmental and conservation activities in the UK and on international expeditions and youth programmes. Expeditions I have led or participated in have included ones to Svalbard, Arctic Sweden, Montana, Sinai Desert, Pico D'Europa, Phillipines and I have supervised World Youth Millennium Awards programme for VSO in Thailand and the UK. I have worked with and for Voluntary Service Ovreseas, Raleigh International, Princes Trust, Royal Geographical Society, Coral Cay Conservation, Outward Bound, Cumbria Youth Alliance and Changemakers and am keen to share my experiences with anyone committed to helping young people reach their full potential and make a positive contribution to their local and global communities.
After a two year spell setting up a new country operation for the British youth development charity Raleigh International from 2007 to 2009, I moved to Cambridge, UK. I am keen to hear from anyone who shares similar interests and would like to collaborate on projects and initiatives.
