About me
My name is Jean de Dieu GATETE. I was born in 1984 in Nyanza District, Southern province of Rwanda. I did secondary school studies at the Minor Seminary of the catholic church in Butare. After completion of secondary school, I worked for one year as a secondary school teacher in ACEPER-GIKONGORO.
In 2005, I was admitted in the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Rwanda where I am still doing medical studies.
It was in 2006 when I joined, Rwanda Village Concept Project which is a voluntary student organization run by rwandan students in collaboration with international students. Rwanda Village Concept Project aims to improve living standards of rural populations through development projects and to develop the skills of volunteer students.
Since, I have occupied posts of responsibilities in the organization: Secretary General in 2007, Vice Coordinator in 2008 and I am currently Director of RVCP Initiatives, a unit in charge of the Health Clinic, the LLCCM orphanage and the ICT Project. It is also a support division in charge of capacity building, research and technical advise to the other units of Rwanda Village Concept Project.
I have received a series of training in project management, communication and teaching skills and youth leadership.
I am also a peace activist working for "Association Modeste et Innocent, www.ami-ubuntu.org".
I hold good computer skills especially with webdesign and web applications development.
In March 2009, I am selected GYCA National Focal Point for Rwanda. I am looking forward to working for more and more achievements.
