Prior to founding The 411 Initiative For Change, Tamara co-founded, and managed, the Urban Music Collective – a not-for-profit artist support agency that staged events in order to promote urban artists in the National Capital Region and the Greater Metropolitan Toronto Area. A Consultant for various performing arts organizations and professional artists, Tamara has extensive experience in facilitating public performances for dance, fashion, music and festivals. During High School, Tamara founded and managed the Black History Committee of The Earl of March Secondary School, where she was responsible for managing and organizing events for Black History month as well as a traveling showcase which visited other schools in the region. Tamara has worked in the corporate and non-profit world doing community outreach, artist management, public relations, marketing, event planning, fundraising and mass media communication. In 2005 Tamara was a member of the Advisory Committee on Integration and Belonging for the United Nations Association in Canada.
