I am the national organiser and project facilitator for the Children and Youth in Broadcasting CYIB-Curious Minds in Ghana. CYIB-curious Minds is a media child/youth righs advocate group in Ghana. We advocate for children/youth rights using the medi-radio and TV as our main tool for advocacy. We also have community based child and youth rights programmes in various communities in Ghana. We are currently in about 9 communities in southern Ghana. i am really happy to be part of this forum or e consultation team. it is my hope and prayer that young people around the world who have the passion and who are working to reduce poverty among young people would get to know each other, share ideas or best practices In Ghana most youth led organisations are passionate an concerned about Strategies to reduce Poverty but i do not know of any youth has been involved in the development of these strategies. It is possible that some youth might have been involved but i personally do not know of any youth being involved or were consulted in the first place. Since i was not involved or know of any youth involved, i cannot say whether their voices were respected or accepted. i am hope however that some youth were consulted or involved..if not we have to fight to make an imput in perhaps the implementation and evaluation since it is we young people who bear the brunt of pover and its related problems.
