At the iEARN circles he has founded new grounds to hone his Human Rights skills through his youth involvement and witness at the Special Courts Procedure in the country, and thus his interest in Juvenile Justice issues. He was commended for the on-line international essay contest in Malta known as ICT for youth empowerment. He has been a key player in the propagation of iEARN’s mission as well as ICT initiatives in several schools and communities in Sierra Leone through an all-out excellence in public speaking and outreach. Undoubtedly, Franklyn was amongst t5he first youth of iEARN Sierra Leone to spearhead the 1st iEARN I.C.T based Peace clubs in his School. This has attracted the Albert Academy School authorities to the iEARN program and has motivated the principals and staff to further solicit moral support from IEARN Sierra Leone in the provision of computers and technical support to enhance ICT in his school. Franklyn is currently bestowed the honour from the iEARN Sierra Leone Director as a youth Representative due to his visible show of leadership qualities. Since 2004, Franklyn has been known to be an active participant in the www.myhero.com project and is currently producing a ‘My Hero’ short video documentary for international competition and broadcast, shepherding a crew of youth video producers from iEARN to go into a spree of interviews with think-tanks, community leaders about the very worthy contributions they can make to the video process about heroism. On August 10th 2004, Franklyn Koroma was a contributor to the gathering of youth during the International Youth Day. He was singled out as a Youth Speaker during the Launching of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabba and other Policy Makers in his government and other private and public corporations. During the week of Action, from the 6th to the 13th of April, 2003, he participated in the ‘Global Campaign for Education’ known as ‘Hands Up For Girls Education together with the Director Andrew Greene who taught the President the Power Point presentation www.campaignforeducation.org Franklyn has also served as a moderator of several youth peace building programs workshops and more recently, he represented the youth of iEARN Sierra Leone in a cross country sensitization campaign on the theme ‘births and death registration’. Franklyn was also a Keynote Speaker at the Africa Youth network, hosted in Ghana, organized by (AYN). He is also a member of the TakingItGlobal and shared his environmental experiences with ENO, and the Youth CaN (Youth Communication And Network which inspires, connects and educates youth about environmental issues. In 2003, he was chosen o participate at the iEARN summer conference in Slovakia. He has experience in traveling to such places in the continent such as: Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Guinea with the aim in view to improve of I.C.T amongst youth. Franklyn is currently a school leaver from the Albert Academy Secondary school where he was honored to be a school prefect as well as prefect of the School Library.
