I greet all my fellow Africans in the spirit of Ubuntu!That which is good for you must also be good for others and that which affects one directly, affects all indirectly…. I am human, because you are human. Ubuntu is a concept of brotherhood or sisterhood and collective unity for survival among the people in every society. Ubuntu is pronounced as ' uu-Boon-too' which can also mean that people are people through other people. Ubuntu discourages us from having the 'Us and Them' mode or the I-Me-Mine syndrome. Such individualism has brought success, wealth and power to some individuals but the expense to the well-being, to the less privileged, and the world is so huge. So I encourage people to embrace the principle of Ubuntu...caring for each other’s well-being will be promoted, and a spirit of mutual support fostered. This is what I firmly stand for and what I wish all could follow. That is ubuntu for you!
