About Me

I'm Fernando M Galán (Segovia, 1986) and I'm studying Degree in Medicine at the University of Cantabria (UC). Since I started my university studies, have been involved in various tasks of student representation. At institutional level, I have been member of the Faculty of Medicine Governing Council, the Medical and Surgical Sciencies Department Governing Council, the University Senate, UC Committee for quality assurance (drafting the Internal Quality Assurance System) and more. I have also been executive committee and chairperson of the Students' Union. At national level, I have been UC representative at the Medical Students' Union of Spain (CEEM) and at the Coordinator of Students Representatives of Public Universities (CREUP).

Moreover, I have developed an intense activity in youth associations, having took part on the board of five associations with different scopes, and founding two of them, among which is the students' union of his high school.

Furthermore, I have collaborated with the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) several times. I am member of the “ANECA Working Group for Student Participation in Quality Policy” (GATPEPC) since it was created; and I have been member of the evaluation committee for the Institutional Evaliation Programme and DOCENTIA programme. Currently I'm full member of the of the health sciences evaluation committee for verification of recognised degree programmes (VERIFICA programme).

In addition, I am current member of the ESU Experts’ Pool on quality assurance and pool member of the EUA' Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) for the 2010-2011 round of evaluations.
