I am a Public Health graduate from University of Malawi. since 2001 I have been involved and always in contact with the young people. I have been involved in facilitation of trainings about HIV/AIDS, STIs, sexuality, early pregnancy, family planning, gender, and human rights. I also provide counseling to victimized girls and young women. I have a great passion for the youth especially girls because these are hard hit by the pandemic and I view young people as agent of social change.
I have founded an organisation called Girls Empowerment Network which is a woman led organisation dealing with issues affecting girls and young women. Our primary focus is HIV/Aids prevention by empowering disadvantaged girls and young women. I have formed five clubs of girls and young women which are being trained to become effective peer educators.
In addition, I work for Story Workshop, a media NGO that uses radio and theatre for Development to influence positive social change in the areas of HIV/Aids, gender and food security. I am involved in formation of Radio listening clubs, facilitation of trainings and monitoring and evaluation of media interventions.
