About Me |
Eman Rimawi is a Black, Indigenous and Palestinian Queer woman, who comes from way of African, to Palestine, to Colonized America, to Brooklyn. She is a writer, performance artist, teacher, student, community organizer, and freethinker. She is a History and Political Science major at Mercy College and hopes to one day teach History. She also hopes to start an organization for Arab Youth in NYC and is currently working on a Supportive Housing model, THE SPOT, for Homeless youth in NYC. She has been and continues to organize with organizations like The Audre Lorde Project, FIERCE, Sista 2 Sista, QEJ, Casa Atabex Ache, as well as many others. She enjoys singing, dancing and having a good time and conversation over soul food and good drinks. She is living with Lupus and continues to work with the Lupus Foundation of NYC to help raise money for a cure. She is currently working on a new website, www.emanrimawi.com, to promote her 2 Chapbooks and a new live CD of her performances. She currently works at Youth Venture, an organization that helps young people start businesses, clubs, and organizations. She lives in Washington Heights.
