About me
The Oduko Boatemaa Foundation is the brain child of Esther Oduko, an American of Ghanaian descent, whose vivid childhood images of less fortunate upbringings, hardworking and "broken backs" have empowered her to make a difference. With the thought of her unappreciated young rural girls and women from her natural rural environs of Mampong, it inspired her to create the foundation. Her vision is to provide interventions that would transform those images to that of the emancipated and empowered rural environs. With women ready to contribute and be a part of her vision, she developed efforts for her people and their children that would allow them to grow up like all other children with opportunities.
ODUKO BOATEMAA GIRLS' VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE was founded in 2002 and incorporated in Ghana by the Register General's Department and Company Limited as a guaranteed nonprofit organization. After many long waited years, on May 8, 2002, the ODUKO BOATEMAA GIRLS' VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE doors were finally opened and young girls ran at the chance to receive their piece of opportunity.
