About me
I believe that it is necessary that the people around me and beyond be inspired.
I have come to believe in the power of inspiration. I have often asked myself what it means to inspire people. Just recently, I asked myself how I could inspire people with what I have.
The answer seemed far away. It seemed an arduous task to find out how to inspire people. Then I remembered something my pastor always says. “You can’t give people what you don’t have,” he often said. It made sense in a totally different way.
I am the last of seven children. I sometimes like to refer to myself as multi-talented. It‘s a fancy title but I don’t know a better way to describe myself. I excel both in the classroom and outside it. I am not perfect but my talents opens doors of hope for me.
I run track and for three years in high school, I was on the school team and was either an anchor or a starter for the 4×400m races. I have a personal best time of 48 and 49 seconds in 400m.
I am a leader. I have been Class President twice ; first in my elementary school and then in my high school.
I am a good speaker. I have spoken at very important events to audiences of different ages. It is odd to say that you are a good speaker just because you have spoken at different venues. For me a good speaker is someone who speaks and you can tell his or her message made an impact. From many of the responses I got from my audience after my speeches, I could tell my message sailed home. Recently, my teacher for my
Public Speaking class wrote this on my speech analysis, “you have a natural ability of projecting charisma and you do exceptionally well connecting with your audience (some people spend years developing this ability.)”
I love to write. Many incidences in my life give me reason and substance to write. And in all my writing, my sincere hope is that someone will be touched and made aware of the fact that they are important and they possess a gift.
When I run, I want someone who doesn’t believe he can be great on the tracks or anywhere else to believe in his/her abilities. When I speak, I want people to see beyond today and be hopeful for tomorrow. When I lead, I want more leaders to be born from those who thought they were not able. When I write, I want the words to jump out at the reader and make a difference.
I believe I would have served my purpose if I worked with what I have and made an effort to improve daily so that others may indeed be inspired.
