Edward is a (student) member of the Nigeria Computer Society. He is the founder and leader of clickITnigeria® (an ICT youth empowerment initiative). He is a Certified HTML writer and a Computer Fundamentalist. He is into web designing and programming. His collection of websites is outlined in the project page of this website. Edward has been featured by different national dailies where he talked about his inspiration and generally about the level of IT development in the country. Newspapers that have featured him include as The Punch, Daily Champion, Vanguard, Financial Standard, Daily Independent and Tribune. Websites that has his name include that of AllAfrica.com, ait-infotechnews.net. Prior to the time he became the IT Youth Ambassador, he has been interviewed by the Nigerian Television Authority, Ile-Ife where he spoke on Youths and Politics. When asked about the potential of the Nigerian youth and where they can get to, he said “the sky is no longer the limit, it was conquered a long time ago” Edward's interest is in the area of Software development, web development and ICT4D youth led initiatives. In line with his passion to raise the level of IT awareness in the country, he has pioneered an ICT4D youth empowerment initiative called clickITnigeria that aims to Inform, Educate and Empower the Nigerian youth. He aspires to preach the IT gospel, and share his ideas beyond his borders, around and beyond Africa. He is an advocate of Personal development as a remedy to the shortage of IT Skills in our society. According to him, his personal website will serve as his e-office where Nigerian e-Youths can always e-call on him at any time of the day for anything called IT, from e-inspiration to e-resources, e-facts and e-figures. As one of the demands of his office, he is to attend to any group of youths that may invite him for IT training in the area of Web development. Do not hesitate to invite the Ambassador to your school, conference, seminar or any related activities towards encouraging youths and the development of IT in Nigeria. The duties of the IT Youth Ambassador include : (1) To represent a symbol of Nigerian Youth talent and a challenge to our systems to look inward for solution to national problems. (2) To sensitise the Nigerian youths in the understanding and usage of Information Technology as a tool for development. (3) To attend to any group of youths who may invite him to come to their location to impart skills which can enhance their knowledge in Internet Applications (4) To respond to any questions by email from his peers as he is obliged to answer and forward copies of such questions and answers to the Executive Cyberschuul. |
