Edford Mutuma, Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia, Edford is a unique leader: selfless, unassuming, mentor to others, a creative yet diplomatic problem solver, all of which is centered in his passion for serving African Youth. This has been demonstrated in his roles as a Peer Educator at Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia, Executive Director of Youth Vision Zambia and as former Chairperson of Lentswe La Rona - Young African Advocates for Rights.
His leadership responsibilities have expanded to a pan-African level when he was elected as Chair of the Africa Youth and Adolescent Network on Population and Development (AfriYAN), which thanks in part to his leadership, currently has networks in 38 African countries, and growing. This has provided him with a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities facing Africa's development, due in some measure to his interactions with high-level officials from Koffi Annan, to a diversity of African Heads of State, International Dignitaries, youth leaders etc. On a national level he sits on number development committees and boards including the Human Rights Commission’s Children’s Right Committee and he currently is Director of Programmes and operations for Planned Parenthood Association of Zambia a member of International Planned Parenthood Federation and a leading national NGO in SRH/HIV/AIDS advocacy and service provision. Edford has an incredible verve for learning and sharing this knowledge through his service to people; and a demonstrated passion and commitment to Africa's development
