About me
In general I am interesting in human rights activism and social justice issues have a special place in my heart. Growing up as a Buddhist has helped me put suffering and compassion into perspective and allows me to think about others and learn to empathize with people's hardships.
Specific work I'm doing right now is to help setup and support mother-tongue language for Khmer children in Vietnam. I belong to an indigenous group in South Vietnam called the Khmer Krom, so my concern is to help young Khmer Krom people get fair and adequate education in the national school and to help them maintain their identity and tradition and preserve their language.
I believe in diversity and respect for different cultures. Cultures colors the world, we must not neglect or act in anyway to directly or indirectly destroy each other's tradition if we are to live with love and kindness.
My family are Khmer-Krom, we came to U.S as refugee as result of the Vietnam war.
I like to get to know other youth and understand your work and would like to give you moral support and any help in my capacity and hope to build the network of active youth engagement to build better more respectful and tolerant world without the cost of loss of diversity of our unique individual cultures.
