 About Me |
Hi! My name is D. J. Fromal and I have been a math teacher for the last 11.5 years at Hatboro-Horsham High School. Since 1999, I have been the AP Calculus teacher at H-H and therefore, I have done a lot of training with graphing calculators. As a department, we see graphing calculators and the associated instruments as integral technology.
In addition to training with TI graphing calculators, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Technology through Walden University- an online institution.
As part of my personal/professional development, I have engaged in seminars and conferences that use such technology as Smartboards, tablets, and online learning environments such as APEX and Blackboard.
I have been informally used as a technology coach on many occasionas by members of my department to teach them strategies with graphing calculators, basic operation of smartboards and tablets, as well as a site coordinator for our use of APEX and H-H. Outside of technology, I have been coaching track and field since 1995 and I am currently the head coach for our boys spring track & field team.
I'm not sure if any of my projects would be considered wonderful. However, I do try to infuse my lessons in math with real-life applications and try to use technology where I think it enriches the learning.
The picture I am including is from my summer vacation with my family -I am the biggest of the boys in the back :-)
