The end of the old school paradigms:
Philosophical’s considerations.
Our perception about the nature of the things and the nature of the causes is extremely limited. Our cognition has been building along the history based on sequence of paradigms
and thoughts which, actually do not correspond with the reality.
Firstly is necessary distinguish perception and reality. The basic concept of perception is directly associated with our understanding about the things but it not meaning that our interpretations correspond with the reality. Therefore perception depend on many variables such as ideology, religion, social-time, moral-ethic, dogmas etc.
As the reality is built through of the perception, we can affirm that for the cognition of the human being the reality is flexible, stretchable such as perception. In this case reality never be reality because depend on the eye of the beholder. Therefore, according to these thoughts, reality and perception are brothers but not twins. They do not born at the same time. The reality was born with the Universe and the perception was born with the conscience of the human beings.
Advancing in the discussion we can identify in the historical process the principles of our cognition. The fundamental base of western thoughts was created in a succession of facts and ideas. Socrates with the dialectics of the dis-construction, Aristoteles who create the Aristotelian Logic (principles of affirmation and negation), Saint Augustin who inserted the Aristotelian Logic through the Catholic Church, Galileo Galilei with the refutation of the tower argument, Rene Descartes who developed the principles of rationalism and law of motion through the methodological rules, Isaac Newton with the methodology of inductivism developed the Law of Gravity (hypotheses to rules and derivation phenomena) and now a day’s Albert Einstein who created the Theory of Relativity which has had a huge impact in science knowledge.
It is difficult to measure exactly the contribution of each actor of the history. A lot of names who participate directly in the development of our thoughts was not mention in this article. Nevertheless, the aim of this article is discussing about paradigms of thoughts.
One of the basic definition of science is the seeking for the truth. Thus the history has proven that the truth is temporal. We have had a lot of historical examples of `absolute or universal truth` that were truth in the past but now a days is overcome. The idea of an earth-centered universe promulgated by Catholic Church was refuted by Copernic and Galilei that were accused as heretical view.
Henri Poincare showed that Newton’s equation about the stability of the solar system was wrong. According to Poicare Newton’s equation could not predict stability in a system of more than two bodies as well as the Laws of Gravity only works in the earth.
Recently the Quantum physics surpass the Classical physics which only describe an approximation of the sub-atomic world. The Quantum physics have been showing the dimensions of the microcosm as well as the principles of self-similarity which can be applied to study the motion of bodies in the universe.
This seeking for the truth that moves our knowledge does not meaning that we will find the truth. Nevertheless, this dialectical movement improving our understanding about the nature of the things and the causes.
New paradigms swerve the old ones thereby our understanding may have to change to following these new dimensions of thoughts . But how can we change our cognition which has been based on long term process of conditionality? How can we convert cognition in meta-cognition? How can we shift our methodological way of rationality?
