Dhvani Joshi is a young and ambitious media person with intense desire to improve knowledge and understanding of the same. After getting involved in various media related subjects, and building academic career in Media Studies, the desire to learn and experience more has been growing up constantly. In addition to other interests, Advertising has been Dhvani’s favourite subject since her school days. Advertising in contemporary Society, Advertising and Market Research, Contemporaray issues, PR and Ethics in Media have fascinated and engrossed her all the times. Understanding Cinema has been one of her favourite research areas. Ever since Dhvani joined her academic studies in the field of Media, she felt it mandatory to equip herself with deeper understanding of the subject and broadening her spectrum in the mentioned field. And now, media and culture studies has become the sky to fly for Dhvani Joshi.
After bright academic records in school, Dhvani continued her study in the field of Mass Communication. Dhvani pursued the studies of Humanities from St. Xaviers College (Mumbai - India). Later on she went on to study media and completed the degree of Bachelor of Mass Media from Mumbai University (India) and achieved a very good rank in the university. Dhvani Joshi continued her study in Bhavnagar University (Gujarat - India). Dhvani Joshi is currently pursuing the degree of Master of Arts (English Literature) from Bhavnagar University. Dhvani Joshi has been involved in many research projects and academic activities through out her study period in this esteemed university. Dhvani Joshi is also a connoisseur of French language and has obtained a "Diplome de Langue Francais" from Alliance Francaise (Paris - France).
Owing to good leadership skills, Dhvani has actively participated and volunteered in the college festival Malhar (at St Xaviers College) and successfully led the 'Theatre Committee' at the Media Festival (K.C. College - Mumbai).
Dhvani Joshi has been an active member in various activities and projects carried out by Mumbai University and she is also a sound member of Theatre Committee (Bhavnagar University). Dhvani also possesses "Junior Black Belt" from Doce Pare Anis, a Philipino Martial Arts Organization. In addition to these academic milestones, Dhvani Joshi acquired many certificates of varied skills from state and national government of India. A few of Dhvani's articles pertaining to youth, culture and media have been published in the local news papers as well as in the online journals. Dhvani Joshi also enjoys giving Radio Talks on India's National Radio - All India Radio (AIR).
Along with academics, Dhvani Joshi has taken keen interest in gaining experience from practical work and has interned at Krimson Advertising (2 months) and S & S Advertising Agency, a premier advertising solutions company, for 2 years along with her graduate studies. This experience has honed Dhvani’s skills and added to it many new dimensions to deal with the real life industry. Dhvani's interest in the Cinema Studies led her to work as a Research Associate at the Katha Centre for Film Studies. This centre deals in archiving films of intellectual caliber, parallel films, experimental films, documentaries, short films and preparing literature pertaining to them and conducting cinema satsangs (screenings followed with discussions). As Dhvani worked at a high level position in Katha Centre for Film Studies, she developed skills to work in teams and also generated leadership skills by leading a team of people working on various projects with diverse nature and complexity. Dhvani has been independently looking after enhancements and maintenance of multiple projects simultaneously. Dhvani has also been involved in client interaction and requirement analysis which has given her the gift of good communication skills. Dhvani has hosted and addressed many seminars in educational institutes as well as in professional organizations and shared her knowledge and research with fellows. With getting more knowledge about the new research in media and contemporary advertising and other unexplored areas, the excitement has been growing up. Dhvani Joshi possesses industry-hardened skills but she is always keen to explore more and more possibilities. Dhvani believes that working in industry is logical extension of her endeavors and the major step in achieving her objectives.
Apart from these academic and professional dimensions, Dhvani Joshi appreciates arts in all its forms . From very young age, Dhvani cultivated interest in arts, especially in classical dance. She has been learning "Bharatanatyam" - an Indian Classical Dance for over 10 years now and has been certified "Visharada" i.e. the degree of Graduation in Bharatanatyam by ‘Bharatiya Sangeet Samiti" for her classical dance skills. Dhvani hails from the family which has been highly reputed for its artistic members. Dhvani’s mother is poet and a literary critic. Dhvani Joshi's husband too is a connoisseur of Classical India Music and an establishing entrepreneur. Dhvani Joshi's father-in-law is a well known poet and scholar of the languages, so Dhvani also derives interest in other art forms; especially languages and literature from her family. Dhvani is a gifted orator. She has addressed seminars along with her studies about various topics ranging from media to culture and soiety, science and dance. Dhvani has a knack for photography and reading as well. She finds solace in reading.
Dhvani Joshi is always keen to meet and communicate with people. She loves to be between people from diverse cultures. Thinking something innovative, novel and pioneering are some of her characteristic.
Dhvani Joshi believes that destiny is not a matter of chance but it is of choice. No one knows how high one can fly until one spreads his/her wings. These words have guided her all the times. These words symbolize Dhvani’s attitude and aspiration in life. As stated by Jackie Joyner Karee, “To achieve success, one needs three things – Dream, Hard work and Discipline.” Dhvani Joshi believes that she possesses all these three. Dhvani Joshi aspires to be a seasoned campaigner of peace and humanity on this globe, to spread her wings, and to make the choice of her destiny…
