I've spent the last four years working for ISPs (internet service providers) doing technical support over the telephone for dialup & ADSL internet access, web hosting, and email basically. I enjoy computers & related technologies a lot, and am watching with great interest the evolution of the Internet, and how it is changing human "civilization" around the world.
On the personal side... I love riding bicycles - I do cross country mountain biking, and trials riding (very technical obstacle riding, not time-trials). I also love listening to and playing music. I play alto sax, accoustic guitar (just campfire style strumming), and I like to sing. For many years I've wanted to go to music school... and I expect that someday I will. In addition to that I have a strong interest in natural sciences - plants, animals, weather, the earth, and I love to travel.
Back in July 2004 I quit my job and left my nice cushy appartment in Vancouver BC, Canada, to move out into the country side of Washington state in the USA to help my dad build himself a house. That was a very interesting experience and took a lot of adjustment, and illuminated some things about myself and my attitudes for me. I had developed this plan to quit my job and move out, help my dad for a few months, then go traveling - I wasn't sure where to yet - maybe India where I could spend time doing language immersion in the Punjab, and when I finally had to get back to working I wanted to try and get work in a different city or country.
So I did quit my job, move out, and help my dad, and while doing that solidified the next part of my plan and on November 23rd I took off bound for Delhi, India. That's where I am now, India. What can I say... what a place!
