About Me

The Youth organization „Democratic Transformations of Ukraine” (DT of Ukraine) established in May 1996 and registered the Ministry of Justice in May 1997 as all-Ukrainian non-governmental, independent, non-profit organization with the purpose of promoting democratic changes in country for consolidation of young peoples, using and defending its potential for the benefit of Ukraine.
Our main goal is involvement of young people into active participation in public and volunteer life in Ukraine, helping them adapt in life of the society with market economy.
Some of the tasks of our organization are (among others):
- conducting of studying seminars and conferences on actual points from social-political, economic and cultural life;
- uniting young people around democratic idea;
- social defense of young people and help them in the sphere of employment;
- holding youth festivals, information’s and volunteers events;
- conducting propaganda campaigns against alcohol, drug, misuse, Youth crime etc.
DT of Ukraine is member of the Global Youth Action Network and YESNetwork, organized annual the celebration of Global Youth Service Day (from 2001 year) with support the Youth Service America and the International Coordination Committee (USA). Events were focused on a planting trees near the Center of Rehabilitation for young peoples, conducted an information campaign and polling among Student’s, conducted trainings for trainers, visited some old peoples, organized the exhibition of young artists “Youth see Chornobyl” (among showed pictures were original pictures from the National Museum “Chornobyl” of the Ministry of Domestic Affairs of Ukraine), accomplished the elaboration programs of activity concerning aid to children-orphans and children, which bereaved of parental care, the upbringing of Human values into young people and establish of relationship and collaboration with the House of Children in Chernigiv region etc.

Members of our organization participate in International conference on Youth policy (Budapest, Hungary 1999), Youth Employment Summit (Alexandria, Egypt 2002), the Summer School of Analytic (Essex, England 2002). In October 1999 the exchange by experience between the Ukrainian and Polish organisations was held, the problems of European integration were considered and in 2000 we took part in the Summer European Academy (Institute Europe in Boholt, Germany) and in 2003 we took part in the International Educational Training "Program of Development of Ukrainian Pro-European Organisations" (Peremysl, Poland). Together with Global Youth Service Network and Youth Service America we celebrated the annual Global Youth Service Day in Ukraine.
