My name is Dharra Budicha. I'm 18 years old and majoring in Political Science at Simon Fraser University. I'm rather living the old cliché of one dreaming of success in this rather vast and populated world. I'm a journalist in the making, and also a leader, activist, and an advocate of human rights. I yearn to become a journalist for many reasons: to address issues in my community and around the globe. I'm passionate about social and political issues throughout the Horn of Africa and the Middle East, and hope to raise awareness by telling the stories of the untold, and striving to give a voice to those who have none. I hope to become the change I wish to see, as Gandhi beautifully put it, and destroy the walls that keep humanity apart and build the bridges that keep us all together. Other than that, I’m a bookworm, news junkie, and a chocoholic at heart, and love reading everything from Shakespeare to Harry Potter. Oh, and I’m terrified of spiders- perhaps even more so than Ronald Weasley. Feels great to be a part of the TIG community! Cheers, Dharra Budicha A journalist in the making "Let's be a part of the solution, and not the problem" -Yusuf Estes.
