About Me

DAVID ABURABURA, 22, has a youth media advocate for HIV/AIDS in Ghana since the year 2000.
Over these years he has been a lead member of the Youth in Broadcasting, a media advocacy group based at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation where they have radio and television programmes for youth with national coverage. Through his involvement in these activities he has played various roles such as radio/TV presenter and producer all in a bid to increase awareness on HIV/AIDS. David advocates for reproductive health rights for young people with policy makers and aspires to become an Economist.
He also is a member of the team who see to the production and distribution of ‘GHAYA, a widely distributed SRH magazine published by UNFPA. David was involved in writing a youth shadow report to review government’s commitments to UNGASS on HIV/AIDS. He is currently a member of a committee set up by UNFPA to initiate a national youth network on HIV/AIDS.
He is a member of UNFPA’s Media Communication and Advocacy Network where he works with other media practioners in the country to raise awareness and stimulate discussions on various SRH issues including HIV/AIDS. He has a vast knowledge on child rights issues and has facilitated training on ‘Rights Based Approaches to Rights of the Child programming for NGO staff in Ghana. He is also a member of the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS.
