Over Mij

I am a native of Umapia, Adum East, Ito, Obi L.G.A of Benue State. Born on the 12th day of October 1982 in Katsina-Ala, Benue State. I attended the Practicing School of the College of Education, Katsina-Ala from 1986-1992, Mt St Gabriel’s Secondary School, Makurdi from 1992-1998 and the Benue State University, Makurdi for a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I am currently doing a postgraduate programme at the same institution.
As an individual, I believe that the purpose of human life is to serve, show compassion and the will to help others. This necessitated my early desire to offer myself for service to God and humanity. While in Secondary School, I served as Food Prefect and President of the Current Affairs/ Press Club among other responsibilities. The manner in which I approach tasks and issues with maturity and composure coupled with my ability to meet new situations with positive feelings of challenge have earned me tremendous goodwill. Hence, while in the University, I occupied several positions of responsibility including National Secretary, National Union of Igede Students (NUIS), Financial Secretary, National Union of Benue State Students (NUBESS), Secretary General, Biological Sciences Students Association (BIOSSA), Senator of the SUG parliament and during my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Katsina State, I was Coordinator of the Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) and Financial Secretary of the NYSC Anti-HIV/AIDS club.

My patriotism and credibility have never been in doubt. I have always lived above board and emerged from every position occupied with unstained reputation. Some of my numerous awards include: NUIS National Award for Pragmatism, Excellence and Dedication (2006), Most Valuable NYSC member, Hauwa Community College, Funtua (2005), Most Disciplined, Most friendly and Most Influential Student of the 2003 graduating set of biological Sciences, BSU Makurdi (2003) Certificate of Commendation from the Pan-African Development Education and Advocacy Programme (PADEAP) (2005), NUIS Certificate of Meritorious Service (2002,2004), Certificate of Distinction, Mt. St. Gabriel’s Secondary School, Makurdi (1997), Certificate of Recognition, NCCF (2005). I am a UNICEF-trained HIV/AIDS Peer Educator and have facilitated several HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health Programmes in Benue and Katsina States. I have also undergone a Conflict Resolution Training Course for the Civil Society under the PADEAP Nigeria initiative. I am today a Principal Orientation & Mobilization Officer with the National Orientation Agency serving presently in Obi LGA unit of the Agency, Benue State.
