 About Me |
I'm a student at the University of Michigan's Schools of Public Health and Social Work earning my dual MPH/MSW. I intern for the HIV/AIDS Resource Center (HARC) in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I attended the US-based Campaign to End AIDS' (C2EA) Youth ACTION Institute in 2008, helped plan the 2009 YAI, and am helping to plan the 2010 YAI. I do state-wide organizing in Michigan with C2EA currently. I was also an AmeriCorps member for the National AIDS Fund, serving at the HIV/AIDS Resource Center in Ypsilanti, MI. In July and August 2009, I did an internship with the HIV/AIDS org Via Libre in Lima, Peru. I'll be doing an internship in China for the month of May 2010 and will be working with various HIV/AIDS organizations in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. In June, July, and August 2010, I'll be working with the Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I've also done developmental biology research in Freiburg, Germany (2002) and youth violence research in Durban, South Africa (2005).
