About me
At the 'tender' age of 28, Cora Conway is convinced that working with youth is the
only way to stay young. She is planning on returning to school to pursue a PhD in
Integrated Studies in Education and currently posses a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Political Science. Her passion for International Development has lead her to academic and personal research and travel.
As a first generation Canadian whose parents hail from Guyana, the reality of underdevelopment has never been far from home. She has lived in Dubai and traveled extensively throughout the Middle East;and in a career and personal high, to Beijing during the 2008 Summer Olympics in her capacity as a Project Coordinator with Right To Play.
Although the opportunity to travel to Ghana will not be her first encounter with the country, it will be the first time she has worked on programming as opposed to policy. A staunch believer in the early cultivation of leaders and youth empowerment, she is excited about developing new skills and working with youth and their communities. She plans on reviving her fleeting youth with a boost of playful energy from Ghana's young
folk.
In order to raise the funds to take part in this incredible project, Cora will be saving and looking to friends & family for their help & support.
Hobby-wise, Cora loves to sing, is an avid reader, yoga-ist and people watcher. She enjoys hanging out with family and friends and long walks along the lake with husband Rene and her puppy dog Bichon Frise, Lola.
