About Me

I am a recent graduate of the Community Worker program at George Brown College. Throughout my career I have been actively involved within a variety of community-based organizations, and initiatives which have a youth focus and use peer/popular education to advocate for positive social change. Most notably, I have worked as an anti-oppression and equity educator on behalf of both Planned Parenthood of Toronto, and the Toronto District School Board, facilitating hundreds of anti-oppression workshops for youth and service providers in schools and other community settings.I also recently completed a year-long practicum field placement with the ecoMentors program of Earth Day Canada; where (among other tasks) I developed and delivered workshops for volunteer youth facilitators training to become environmental peer educators. Through my involvement in this type of work I have developed a strong interest and commitment to popular education, group facilitation and leadership, and working with youth; whom I believe have a unique energy and interest in social issues, making them extremely effective both as learners and as teachers.
