He is a member of the WSIS Youth Caucus international and in Nigeria. He has attended meetings that are geared towards promoting youth inclusion in policy making processes. In such meetings he has either spoken the minds of the youth he represents or has added his voice to that of other youths. In May 2004, he led the youth delegation to present the Nigerian Youth Declaration on the WSIS at the eNigeria International ICT conference in Abuja Nigeria. He also spoke at the 2005 edition, highlighting the role of youth in grassroot ICT deployment. In February 2005, he was among the youths sponsorsed to attend the African Regional Preparatory meeting, Accra 2005, towards the second phase of the WSIS meeting in Tunis, Tunisia. This meeting formed the platform for the launching of the African Youth ICT4D Network At the International level, Edward is working as a partner with the World Summit Youth Awards Radio based in Austria, where he reports on the Nigerian Youth Situation and the ICTs. He was also recently invited to be a member of the Nigerian World Summit Awards Advisory board under the e-Learning Category. Presently he is a member of the Jury for the World Summit Youth Award. In Nigeria he is with clickITnigeria and the Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN), both volunteer level based ICT4D youth led initiatives. While he is the webmaster for PIN, he leads the clickITnigeria team to raise a new generation of youths equipped with IT skills, informed about the emerging information society and armed with the tools and resources to face the challenges this new society brings. ClickITnigeria has been reaching out to university undergraduates. He writes extensively to advocate, educate and to inform. He has had his works published in National newsletters, newspapers and magazines. He has been featured in Newspapers and Various Campus magazines some of which include Campus Gist, Inspire and Lifebouy. Edward has a flair for web development. In February 2004, he earned the web developer of the year award by the Nigerian Association of Computer Science Students. As an aspiring young man he is building his career around Information Technology, Human Resource Management and Advocacy. He maintains a personal website at www.edwardpopoola.com, an avenue through which he reaches out to young people. Edward holds a diploma in Computer Technology and presently running his first degree program in Computer Engineering at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Nigeria.
