In order to gain experience, travel and participate in development issues I have become a volunteer for Youth Challenge International and will be embarking on the Costa Rica project in July 2009. Amongst other things, our project will likely follow one of three streams including Youth & Women Skills Development, Infrastructure building or Rain Forest projects. In the meantime I will be learning Spanish, researching Costa Rica as well as fundraising $3000 to cover the cost of the trip! If you would like to help, please visit my donations page! Any little bit will help! Other: I really love the outdoors! My best friend and I have taken the initiative to try and live as sustainable as possible! No driving - only walking, recycling/reusing, no plastic bags, growing own plants, buying organic products (as much as we can afford), etc.!! I am really excited about going on the project this summer - I can't wait to meet the other members! It seems we are all girls thus far!
